What’s the difference between the hard SNAPBOX® and an inflatable solution?

Both the hard SNAPBOX® and inflatable softboxes are designed to diffuse light efficiently — the choice depends on your setup needs.

The hard SNAPBOX® features a self-tightening frame that sets up quickly without tools or air, offering consistent shape and tension. Inflatable solutions are typically lightweight and collapsible, which can be beneficial for travel or large-scale setups.

While SNAPBOX® is ideal when you need fast, reliable rigidity, inflatables can be a great choice when space-saving and weight are key considerations.

What side options are available?

SNAPBOX® Lightboxes come with two interchangeable side panel sets:

  • Diffusion sides for a fully soft, glowing light effect.
  • Black/Silver spill covers for blocking unwanted spill and bouncing light forward, offering more direction and contrast.

This flexibility lets you shape the light to match your creative and technical needs.

What is the difference between a SNAPBOX® and a SNAPBAG®?

While both use DoPchoice’s Snap Technology for fast, tool-free setup, they serve different purposes:

SNAPBOX® is made for flexible panels and LED tiles. It typically matches or slightly enlarges the size of the panel, keeping a compact, boxy form. It’s ideal when you need soft light with control—without increasing the footprint.

SNAPBAG®, on the other hand, is designed for point-source LED fixtures. Its trapezoid shape increases the size of the front diffusion screen, which creates a larger, softer light source—perfect for wrapping light more gently around your subject.
